Culture plays an important role in determining the way people behave in an organizational setting or in a social environment. In Australia, the leaders consider the culture of the community and design the public health policies accordingly (Rowitz, 2013). For example, Australian culture does not recognize the marriage of same sex individuals. This would make the public health managers to promote the use of condoms and safe sex in the Australian culture. The culturally sensitive policies would foster mutual respect among the communities as well as empowerment of the marginalized groups (Rowitz, 2013). The infusion of cultural component in the public health policy would help the managers to find innovative methods. This would help to increase the health literacy among the people, especially from divers e cultural backgrounds. The culture component affects the public health leaders by understanding the expectations of different cultures (Rowitz, 2013). The demands as well as preferences of Australia are different with that of other countries and this should be considered by the public health manager while formulating health policies. The behavior patterns of different racial groups provide a foundation for the business practices in public health. Effect of gender on public health leadership style The gender is an important determinant in deciding the leadership style in public health. The public health policies should be aimed at addressing the composition of the target groups. It should take into account whether the group is dominated by males or they are dominated by females. The public health managers of Australia try to ensure that there is gender equality when dealing with a diverse group (Rowitz, 2013). Women are considered as inferior in some parts of the world. They are not given sufficient medical attention or there is lack of public health amenities in the areas where they reside (Rosen Imperato, 2015). This is a matter of concern for the public health managers who needs to design the organizational policies accordingly. The rural area in the developing countries requires stringent public health intervention (Khan et al., 2016). The public health managers often face the challenge of male monopoly in certain parts of the world (Rowitz, 2013). This is especially pred ominant in the developing countries and hence the public health managers should design their policies accordingly. More emphasis should be given to gender equality and the health needs of the women should be given importance. Improvement of contribution of the organization to public health The organizations should incorporate necessary changes so that they can contribute more towards the improvement of public health. It is important to do proper planning towards the public health policies. The organization should focus on specific aspects of the public health such as environmental health, behavioral health, mental health and community health. It is important to formulate separate team who would look after the public health surveillance process. The organization should allocate separate budget for the public health programs. A monitoring and evaluation team should be employed who would look after the progress of the health project in fulfilling the necessary goals of the organization. It is important to allocate sufficient time for the public health activities. The organization must strive to employ talented employees who can take care of the public health activities. There should be more participation from the organizations so that the framework of the public health pr ograms can be enhanced.
